Wise Owl builds the line with flat or metallic pigments depending on the color, and it tints and shades whatever sits beneath it instead of covering it. That means it works two ways: over a painted piece that has been sealed, or straight onto bare wood for a gel stain finish. Wise Owl's own painters have blended it with Chameleon and Black glaze over a Black Cherry base. Glaze is made to be wiped almost as soon as it goes on, so work in small areas and resist overworking it. Allow 2 hours to dry fully, then top with Varnish or One Hour Enamel Clear for full protection.
